After completing his medical studies in Paris in the 90's , Philippe Collin has been trained by different famous shoulder surgeons in France and in Europe and USA. He has worked for 20 years in a private hospital in Paris, at the head of the shoulder unit. His team host fellows from all over the world and has a department for scientific research. Philippe Collin has gained international recognition by communicating all over the world.

Philippe Collin has gained international recognition by communicating all over the world (he has published 12 scientific papers in the American Academy Orthopedic surgeon). He has won the best scientific paper prize at the international meeting for shoulder and elbow surgery in Japan in 2013. As a leading figure in shoulder surgery, he published more than 90 scientific papers and is a lecturer all over the world. Always in the search for the improvement of the techniques of its sector, and as a real technophile, in 2013 he has been the first surgeon in the word to use Google glasses for a live surgery between France and Japan. In 2020, he was the first one too to use Hololens technology for visualization of shoulder prosthesis planification. In 2021, his work ethic as well as his acclaimed skills have earned him to be elected President of the European Society for Shoulder and Elbow Surgery ( SECEC), he is also corresponding member of the American society for shoulder and elbow, former president of the French shoulder and elbow society. His area of interest is massive rotator cuff and reverse shoulder arthroplasty as well as new technologies.
