Sofia Ish-Shalom , MD, is a Clinical Professor (emeritus) at Technion Faculty of Medicine. She headed Bone and Mineral Metabolism Unit in Rambam Health Care Campus in Haifa Israel with an adjacent research unit. At present, she is Vice President of the Israeli Foundation for Osteoporosis and Bone Diseases and a member of Women Health Council for the Israeli Ministry of Health. Her research interests include anabolic treatment of osteoporosis and other disorders of bone and mineral metabolism with PTH or its fragments, nutritional aspects of osteoporosis and bone diseases, vitamin D in health and disease, diagnosis and treatment of osteoporosis and bone diseases.
