Prof. Dr. Carsten Tschöpe** is professor of medicine and cardiology at the German Heart Center of the Charité (DHZC) in Berlin. He is one of the leading cardiologists at the center, as well as an internist and intensive care physician specializing in heart failure, including cardiogenic shock, heart muscle diseases (cardiomyopathies), and myocardial inflammation (myocarditis/pericarditis). He also holds an additional qualification in genetic counseling. Prof. Tschöpe is an experienced interventional cardiologist, proficient in all complex coronary invasive procedures, including stent implantation. As a clinician, he heads the Cardiomyopathy Unit in the Department of Cardiology at the DHZC on the Charité Campus Virchow. For over 20 years, he and his team have cared for patients with primary cardiomyopathies, including those with genetic origins (e.g., HCM, Fabry disease, amyloidosis). With over 50,000 heart biopsies performed, he is regarded as one of the world's most experienced interventional cardiologists in this field. In research, Prof. Tschöpe leads the *Cardiovascular System* platform at the Berlin Institute of Health (BIH) Center for Regenerative Therapies (BCRT) at the Charité. His research focuses on immunocardiology, where he and his team conduct experimental, translational, and clinical studies to uncover new pathological mechanisms in heart failure, with a particular emphasis on immunological and inflammatory dysregulation. One of the hot topics of his group is: "The role of the Microbiom in Herat Failure." Nationally, Prof. Tschöpe is connected through the *German Center for Cardiovascular Research* (DZHK). Internationally, he serves on the executive committees of the *European Society of Cardiology* (ESC) and the *Heart Failure Association* (HFA). He is the Chair of the ESC-Workung group: Myocardial and Pericardial Deseases. With over 500 international publications, he is recognized as a world-renowned expert on heart failure, including HFpEF and myocarditis. According to Expertscape, his expertise in myocarditis ranks 5th worldwide.
