We will discover first-hand the history of the market, its formation and development, and its fascinating blend of multicultural charm.
Put it all together and what you end up with is a vibrant marketplace with a wide range of marketing styles. The Shuk and its surrounding areas are overflowing with fruits, vegetables, fish and meat, local restaurants, trinkets, household appliances, boutique bakeries and concept stores.
During the tour we will walk past unique stalls: drink fresh coffee and learn how it is made; taste Balkan pastries; wipe clean a plate of Hummus; visit an outstanding spice shop; drink a special Shuk beverage; and snack on different ethnic foods.

A Tour of Ein Kerem – “From a Small Spring to a Magical Village
We will go on a journey of Ein Kerem, during which we will witness the ancient agricultural settlement that survived on the terraces – dating back to the Canaanite period.
We will tell the story of Beit HaKerem – the biblical Ein Kerem – that was mentioned by the Prophet Jeremiah.
At the entrance to the spring, we will revisit the story of Mary, Jesus’ mother, and her journey there with her cousin Bathsheba.
We will describe the holy importance of Ein Kerem to Christians – as a Christian pilgrimage site – and its recognition as the birthplace of John the Baptist.
We will visit the beautiful churches of Ein Kerem, tour the picturesque alleys, observe the Arab stone houses, and fall for the charms of iconic village.
At the end of the tour in Ein Kerem, the group will convene for lunch.
