Currency and Money Exchange
The currency in Israel is the New Israel Shekel (NIS). We recommend using the local currency although most expenses in Israel may be paid with major credit cards.

Visas
All visitors entering Israel must have a passport that is valid for at least 6 months from the date they will leave Israel. Visitors are allowed to remain in Israel for up to 3 months from the date of their arrival. Please check to see if your country of origin belongs to the Visa Waiver Program which entitles citizens of certain countries to enter Israel without having to arrange a visa ahead of time. Visitors from countries that are not members of the Visa Waiver Program must make a request for an entry permit/visa from the Israeli consulate in their country or region before they arrive to Israel.
